Valentine’s day is coming up, and we’ve been thinking about different ways to spread the love this season. While you typically might go out to dinner or gift some sweet treats, there are many other ways to express how much you care. Here is a list of our favorite, unique ways to spend this February 14th.
Try an experience
Instead of opting for your regular dinner on Valentine’s Day, we love the idea of doing something else. Buy tickets to a jazz club, museum, or comedy show. Here are some of our favorite picks in NYC:
Group games
This bingo event in Brooklyn offers a fun night out accompanied with an old school R&B soundtrack that will make you want to dance. It's perfect to spend with friends or to hide from the typical lovey dovey Valentine’s traditions if that's not your vibe. Bingo!

Party run
Is this cold weather not cool enough for you? Go on the Cupid’s Undie Run, where you run a mile in nothing but your underwear to raise money for neurofibromatosis (NF). If you're not immune to the cold, you can find music, dancing, and drinks at the afterparty to warm you back up. Also, the Cupid Undie Run is put on throughout cities all over the country, so check out their list of stops if you are not in NYC.

Dinner + show
The Smoke Jazz Club in the Upper West Side is playing that funky music all Valentine’s weekend. They provide dinner and drinks to go along with the show, and a luxurious interior that will make you feel very posh. Even if you're not the biggest fan of jazz, we think that it creates the perfect romantic atmosphere for Valentine's Day, and that you should maybe reconsider.

Buy a gift
This is a classic way to show your love on Valentine’s Day, but deciding what to actually buy might be tough. Price doesn’t always matter, and not every gift is the same. Chocolates are cheaper than AirPods, but the sweet treats are typically a little more romantic. While this might not be true for everyone, here are some gifts that we personally love this holiday:
Photo album
For the people you share countless memories with, a photo album would be a perfect customizable gift. We love this mini photo album which allows you to add up to 40 pictures and comes in the perfect pocket size for your friends who live in that tiny NYC studio apartment.

Handmade jewelry
Jewelry is always a go-to gift for Valentine’s Day. If you’re buying something for your friends, we love the Sentimento Bracelet from our Cabo Verde Evil Eye collection. If you’re looking for something more romantic, we recommend the Venetian Pendant or the Sicily Gold Earrings which come in various colors and give the look of elegance and vintage charm.

Cashmere
For your friend or family member that always complains about being cold, give them some cozy cashmere. Eldon Cashmere is based out of London and makes some stylish and colorful cashmere accessories that would make for perfect gifts. We especially love their colorful wrist warmers which keep your hands warm while still allowing you to wear your statement rings.

Acts of service
Do gifts and quality time not speak to your love language? Try offering some acts of service to those people who you love the most. Deep cleaning the house or fixing something that has been broken is a great way to show you care.
