With spring around the corner, new trends are blossoming in tandem with the trees and flowers lining the city streets. If you haven’t heard, 2026 is the year of the fire horse in Chinese astrology, symbolizing passion, boldness, and freedom. We believe that this is making a huge impact on some of the forecasted fashion trends, as people aim to express that fearless energy outwardly just as much as they hope to manifest it within. Here is a list of our favorite styles that we will be experimenting with as we gallop into this upcoming season.
Color blocking
While spring and summer of 2025 was filled with trends inspired by sailors and the coastal grandmother aesthetic, 2026 traded whites, blues and stripes for contrasting and complementary colors. Trading out traditional neutrals for richer hues like burgundy, olive green, and navy allow outfits to make a stronger and unique impact. In order to make colors flow well together, consider maintaining similar vibrancies to make the look consistent - think all pastels or all dark and rich.

Texture mindset
With the clean girl aesthetic on its way out, the simple, minimalist, and albeit boring fabrics are right behind it. As stated previously, 2026 is the year of boldness. This will reflect throughout fabrics as beaded fringe, textured leathers, and 3D fabrics and designs will add more visual depth to your outfits. The goal is to add more movement and interest to a look through creative structure and mixed layering.

y2k sportswear
Around 2018, we saw a wave of vintage sportswear take over the fashion industry, specifically in the form of bike shorts. These Princess Diana inspired cut-offs weren’t only used as sportswear and athleisure, but they were also paired with blazers for a laid-back going-out look. While we don’t personally miss this trend, it’s important to look back to see how far we’ve come. In 2026 we are transitioning to incorporating gym wear from the 90s and early 2000s - think straight-legged capris, low rise waistbands, and slightly cropped tank tops. We’re also seeing more graphic and rhinestoned elements that were originally bestowed upon us by brands like Juicy Couture and Ed Hardy.
